Frequently asked questions.
How much do sessions cost?
Sessions are $220 per 50-minutes.
Will insurance cover my sessions?
Some insurance companies cover therapy sessions. It is recommended that you contact your insurance company prior to booking to understand if and how they cover sessions. We offer direct billing to select insurance companies.
What can I expect from the first session?
The first session of therapy is very different from follow up appointments. In this session you will get to know your therapist, discuss informed consent, and explore your purpose and goals for therapy. Bring any relevant health information with you to the first session.
How does therapy work with children?
Therapy for children starts with an initial “parent consultation” appointment with parents and/or legal guardians and no children in attendance. We ask that all parents and/or legal guardians attend this appointment. If need be, two separate “parent consultations” can be scheduled. This first appointment allows you to meet the therapist, review forms, and discuss your concerns about your child.
After this appointment, an initial appointment where your child attends is arranged. At times, the parents and/or legal guardians and therapist may choose to book other parent consultations if this is relevant to the concerns.
Depending on the age of your child, the concerns for therapy, and the therapist’s style, the initial and subsequent appointments with the child may vary. At times, there is the use of talk therapy techniques or play therapy techniques, in which your child and the therapist may work in the playroom.
